Soft tissue therapy can help your body relax and have more energy for the things you want to do.
By releasing restrictions, including scar tissue, and assisting to realign and restore good function the body expends less energy.
The therapies provided will often be used in conjunction with each other, where appropriate, to obtain the best results for the client.
For your first appointment a health history form is required to provide an overview of You.
Complete as much as possible and bring to your first appointment. Initially you will be evaluated physically to determine the body site requiring treatment.
Following appointments include evaluation to determine treatment and to build on changes.
The site does not necessarily match the site of pain, as a restriction can cause pain in another area of the body. Treatment is light but deep and efficacy should not be underestimated.
The session is not necessarily 60 minutes in length due to the need for the body to start integrating the changes before you leave.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST)
CranioSacral Therapy is a profound therapy that helps the body to release physical restrictions from fascia and mental and emotional stress.
Physically it releases fascia and helps the body to relax. For impacts CST is excellent to remove the effects of an injury, such as a fall and can be used immediately. Emotionally the body is able to let go of concerns that can cause the holding of stress and pain in the tissues.
It is based on the system from the head to sacrum via the spinal column which has its own rhythm as do our other body systems.
Visceral Manipulation (VM).
Visceral Manipulation provides treatment to the body’s organs and indirectly to other areas of the body via working specifically with the fascia. For example treating the liver can release and improve movement and function of the right shoulder.
VM is also a profound therapy and by ensuring that the body’s organs are ‘happy’ and harmonious allows for better balance of the body in daily life.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
MLD treats the lymphatic system. It is beneficial for many things, as it affects the whole system even by treating the main area of concern.
MLD can help with: detoxification, fluid retention, carpal tunnel, acute injuries, headaches and migraines, sinuses, pre and post surgical conditions, and general well being. It stimulates the lymphatic and the immune systems.
For conditions that require specific treatment, these will be referred out.
I now only use MLD for wellbeing and minor conditions due to the other modalities that I incorporate into my work.
Massage
Massage techniques are incorporated when appropriate as they can help support the enhance and support the effectiveness of the treatment.
